Take a rock

Smash door window.

There ya go... keyless entry!

Seriously, ask the local dealer where they put the reciever module, and see if you have one.

I just got a 1994 F-150 XLT. I wondered the same thing. I had other problems with a botched drivers door repair. I ended up taking the door apart to fix it and also installed a Radio and speakers. I asked the same question on here and was told that most trucks did not come with keyless entry. It was less expensive for me to install keyless entry then to have to replace door and ignition lock cylinders. The drivers door lock cylinder was damaged and will not always work with the key but the automatic locks work fine. I still was not sure if my truck had keyless entry so I ordered a kit from Crutchfield. There are cheaper ones available but I did not want to have to splice tons of wires and the one from Crutchfield has optional pre made harnesses. When I received the kit I jumped in and installed it. If my truck had keyless entry there would have been a wire harness with three relays behind the passengers kick panel. There would have been a large wire harness under the steering wheel with several relays and somewhere there would have been a keyless entry computer box. None were present in my truck. Here is what I did.
Received and installed the keyless entry and pre made wire harnesses from Crutchfield. The pre made wire harnesses made it easy. Would have been much easier if it was not below freezing while working. The whole thing involved. Disconnecting the battery. Taking off the passenger side kick panel. Plug a pre made harness with 3 relays inbetween a harness plug there. A small wire harness runs from that to the little keyless computer box. Take off the panel under the steering wheel and plug a large pre made wire harness in between the exsisting connector and run the small wire harness from that to the keyless computer box. Find a + 12 volt always hot and a chassis ground which are both available on the back of the power point (or for us old guys the second cigar lighter) and that got it going. The + 12 volt always hot wire has a inline 15 amp fuse. Mount and zip tie everything up out of the way and put the panels back on. Needed a torks driver or whatever the star shaped fastners are called for the under steering wheel trim panel. Reconnect the truck battery. Start the truck and let it relearn idle. To do this just start the truck with every thing turned off and let it run for at least a minute. Do not touch the gas pedal while starting the truck or while it is relearning idle. The instructions with the kit were clear with pictures and the harnesses only fit on the correct harness at each location. Now in my 94 year truck the head light switch is seperate on the dash. I would have had to splice into the headlight wire harness to get the parking lights to flash or stay on for 30 seconds or for everything to flash if the panic button is pressed or truck broken into depending on how I wanted to program the keyless entry. Splicing is possible and involves about 5 wires. In later year trucks with the headlight control as part of the steering column the large harness that connected under the steering wheel would have taken care of that as well. The large under steering column wire harness connection takes care of starter disable and all the other alarm/ anti-theft functions. The unit comes with a plug in buzzer or can be spliced into the horn wiring with a relay. Unit also comes with a flashng LED that plugs in and window stickers.
Hope this helps

I also found out that the glove box key is seperate and I did not get one with my truck. I ordered a new cylinder with keys for that and it cost 22.00 dollars. I bought my truck from a private seller. If you got yours at a dealer they should be responsible for giving you all the keys.

Thanks for the info Andy, I spoke with the dealer and they told me how to check for the system on the vehicle. (requires cycling the ignition 5 or 8 times, if the locks activate then the vehicle is equipt with keyless entry, if not, it does not). I will check out crutchfield for the unit you speak of.
thx
