replacing taillight '92 Explorer

need to replace taillight on my Explorer - the 2 screws at top are obvious - but taillight group doesn't want to come out ... i am thinking the plastic wedge on the inside hides another screw, but what then is the secret for removing the wedge??
thanks

Look in your owners or Haynes manual.

owner's manual

the owner's manual has detailed instructions and drawings about the headlights and the stoplight over the tailgate, but not a word about the taillight group, and i need to change teh stop-turn signal lamp ...

Once you have the two screws on the top removed, you should be able to pull the housing straight out. There are no other screws.

Chilton's says there are only the two top screws to remove. The bottom is hel in by pins. Once the two crews are reomved, it should just pull out.

Yes! Pull hard. The seals will also make it hard to pull out. There are only two screws at top and two pins in the bottom. It will come out.
Good luck.
