Since sometime last yr IHRA has allowed the gm teams to run a hemi head similar to Ford's Hemi head in pro stock.Since Ford's are the dominant engine in this class, it seems that the powers to be will do anything to put gm on top.Here they get to run a head that gm never built.The same thing happens in nascar with bowtie bill france,chevy's sb-2 head for example, they patterned that head off of the Ford head all the while turning down Fords request for new stuff,although this year Ford has some cyl head changes finally.I will no longer watch Nascar with their predictability,stupid rules,phantom caution flags to make the race more entertaining,rule changes keep things equal,[being the best is what it is all about bill!!] all for entertainment value, not to mention this stupid points change because a Ford won the championship.Nhra pro-stock i will no longer watch since the only ford car w/Scott Geoffrion folded camp because lack of sponsorship from Ford [Bill Ford you suck!] I can still watch CORR offroad series with REAL truck racing compared to nascar craftsmen truck racing which is not real truck racing. I tell you folks, it just ticks me off! ok i'm done

I don't really follow the IHRA.But If ford is at the top that means everyone is gunning for them.When someone wins all the time,they change the rules.It's like that in all the races.

 

I think NASCAR chagned the point system because they lost viewers the last couple of months. unless Kenseth and crew really screwed up, everyone knew they would take it, there was no excitement, so fewer people watched

 

I think the rules change had a lot to do with the fact that a Roush car won the championship, and not one of the glory boys of nascar(Gordon, earnhardt, wallace, etc, etc) The way it is set up now, some joe smoe that struggles into the top 10 b4 the last 10 races start, even if he is a 1,000 points back from the leader can take the championship home, and the guy in the 1st place that didn't make the cutoff could win every race the rest of the year and not finish any higher than he was b4 the last 10 races? what the heck kind of system is that? I'll tell ya!! for entertainment ONLY, not for the driver's so really,nascar doesn't start until september sometime....if u can't tell I think this is the stupidest thing they have ever done, and I haven't talked to one fan yet that thinks it's a good idea

Everybody boo hooed about matt winning one race, but if little jr would have got the trophy, then him winning only two races would have been ok.
