leaking windshield or ?
I don't have the truck anymore, but I purchased a 1985 ford F350 stakebed last summer that I've been fixing up. Now that the rainy season is here, I've noticed that water drips from the same area as my 90 ford. This truck doesn't have a headliner but rather a dual layer steel top.
When I bought the truck, the floor board had a rotted rust spot about 6 inches in diameter right under the gas pedal foot and right where this water would drip. I've repaired the floorboard and replaced the vinyl flloring, but now that the rainy season is here it's suddenly apparent why it had the rust spot.
The leak is pretty substantial, so much that during rainstorms if I make a turn, about a shotglass full of water comes pouring out of the area near the upper left eindshiled (as oppsed to the drip when sitting still/driving straight).
Now this truck also has 5 running lights accross the top of the cab, so before I start shotgun troubleshooting this thing I thought I'd post here and see if there is some known problem with these trucks, seeing as this is my second older ford truck with the same exact problem.
What is likely the problem, and what is the short term fix for now and the long term permanent solution to prevent water from getting in and making me uncomfortable and doing further damage to the truck?
Is this just a coincidence, or does something like the windshield gasket on these trucks notoriously go out after ten years or so?
Thanks,
Mark S.
Also if you have a cargo light for bed ck the top of this also, sealer here can crack to.
