Lifted 78...What kind of dished pistons did you use and where can I buy them? I'm going to be running a 400 botred out .030 over with Aussie 302 quench heads as well.

Thanks!

You can buy similar 1.73 pedestal mount rockers from Scorpion, but they are not blue. Scorpions do have a cool logo on each one.

Pedestal mount rockers do not require guide plates or hardened pushrods but they are a little harder to set the lifter preload hence the shim kit.

Pedestal mounts are cheaper overall and the pedestals provide a more solid valve train than stud mounted rockers like Chebies run. Cheby people spend thousands on valve train "upgrades" to get a nice solid valvetrain like 335 and 385 series engines have stock. Of course we do upgrade ours with the nice FMS & Scorpion roller rockers etc.

I have a Dana 61 also, they were produced for a couple of years as a Ford "Mileage Maker" axle. They had a heavy housing like a Dana 70 with a lower numeric ratio gearset for mileage. They were used in E/F-250/350's 2WD vehicles usually behind a 400 or 460. The Dana 60 4:10 and lower ratio parts fit them.

My 400 was bored 60 over and I haven't had any problems with it yet. Plan on trying to race it this year. If it does blow, I have a 351M waiting as a backup.
