flowmaster or glass pack

first off, with glass packs, your truck will sound like a ricer. they go behind the cat, or after is more the word for that. it will not be loud no matter what you do, if you want a V8 sound what you do is go down to the muffler shop and ask for a nice 3" flowmaster amd a resonator....they come in the H2 packages. then you will have that loud, low rumble you are looking for, although you will lose your second cat, and youll need to break out all that crap in the front one.

it all prefference. its jsut he wants loud, not a 'can of bees' sound. and with the 300, you can straight pipe it, and it will still be "quiet". he needs a resonator to get a cool sound.

The only cool sounds are a B.A.R. on full auto or a twin MA DEUCE (.50 cal Browning Machine gun for you civvies out there).

I agree with the ricer comment. I have a real long glasspack on my truck in place of the muffler and it sounds low and deep and not at all like a ricer. I don't wind the motor up that far though; a 6 isn't made to be wound up..
Flowmasters flow better than glasspacks. The glasspacks are old design and the grate metal inside causes restriction. But they're cheap and they don't flow as bad as stock.

Both cats are on. I welded straight pipe with flares at either end to the glasspack for the right length for cat to over the axle pipe and run a cheap Walker over the axle pipe from the local auto place. The pack has to be 24" or something, it's the longest Thrush one they had. It's not so loud you can't stand it but you know you have an exhaust, nice and deep. I'm sure it would be a lot louder with no cats. Put it this way, you know it when you're inside the house and somebody starts it up outside.
