Has anyone heard that the Super Duty is going to undergo a face lift in 2005?? I'm going to buy one, but need to wait till early '05 to do it. I REALLY like the current design and am afraid that Ford will jack it up and make it look like a pumped up F-150. Please tell me it isn't so!!
Ford has not annouced anything official yet, but there have been pictures floating around of the '05s. Also, people have seen pre-pproduction units driving arouns. They get a new grill/headlights. Not a big change. Looks sorta Tonka--like, someone said.
4x4's get coils up front. Leafs are gone.
New dash.
New seats.
V10 gets the 3V treatment with a hp and torque bump. Torque will be 455. I forget the new hp. 350, I think.
I've had a sneak peak at an 05 or two.... Coil sprung front it is with REALLY long radius arms and huge bushings. Also full crossover steering and way bigger wheel bearings and lockouts. New brakes too. The ride should be better and still easy to lift but get an '04 if you prefer leaf springs.
Or wait for 05 if you're putting big rubber on and don't want wheel bearing troubles...
What milage do your hub bearings die w/ big tires vs stock?
I've been checking out the archives & it seems that a lot of SD owners face paying ~$425/side to have their front bearing changed sooner or later. How soon does this occur w/ you guys w/ those beautiful lifted truck w/ wide stanced wide tires, "pay sooner", vs how many miles can a stock setup expect to get out of bearings, "pay later". I'd like to "pay later" but like the look of the "pay sooner".
Thanks

Remind me not to let you drive my truck. I've had 4 coil sprung Fords and have never heard of this before.
