I have 8 ft fisher minuet mount on f350 6.0 best plow I ever had
as far as the rest of the plows out there why would they
compare ther's to fisher if fisher was not top Dog
I have a Meyer EZ Mount with the poly blade and it works great. Everything I have ever operated has had a Meyer on it, so I can't comment on other snow plows. The uni-mount systems such as what Western and Meyer have are becoming popular because you mount everything as a unit. They are easy to install, easy to remove, and when they are off it reduces the weight on the front of the truck.
If you are looking to buy a plow, check out the features of each, parts availability, then shop for price.
i like boss plows and feel that they are the best. Find out who has the best service around you. At 3 am when your plow breaks, you want a dealer that will be open and be able to fix your plow. Ask some of the people who plow for a living and see what they have to say.
Plows are very similiar, and I will agree with a previous poster, that a local dealer is the best to go with. In the NE, fisher dominates, in the MidAtlantic, Myers and Western are very popular. For your Truck, you want to be careful about how much weight you put on the front, and a 7.5 is about right. If you are looking at a V, figure on adding a hundred pounds or more, and about 800 bucks additional minimum. PLows range from 3K to 4.5K
On the east coast you could get a Diamond I have the MDII.
My dealer had Boss Fisher and Diamond...I looked at them all and settled on the diamond cause it looked better engineered and simple. And the blade has a much better curve on it than all the rest..I have the 8ft..Its my 3rd plow and I love it.. Its good to see them side by side...
