Sand Tire Pressure
I have a brand new 02 f250 5.4L 6 speed manual 4x4. I put dually flowmasters on and i am putting a rancho leveling kit on in three weeks. I have the stock firestone steeltechs on her right now. I plan on taking her on the sands of cape hatteras very often this summer. What should I take the tire pressure down to? I just want the best grip without hurting my baby. Thanks for the help.

what size are your tires??
I have 235/85/16's and I can drive just about anywhere in the outerbanks with street pressure. If I jam the throttle I'll sink right in though. I ran mine down to 30 psi and had very good results. -Jaseun

i run my truck in the sand alot. i run 15 psi in front and 12 psi in the rear. never had one come off the rim at that psi. i use more air in front due to the weight of the motor. 30 psi is still way to hard for sand trust me with 12-15 psi you hardly need 4x4.

I'm using 20 psi front 18 psi rear for my sand driving. It's not all sugar sand though, I stick to those because lots of time I come aross ruts, trash, and driftood on the beach. Also...Padre Island is a long friggin' beach, 15 mph down the whole thing would make me crazy, I usually stick to about 25 to 30 mph in the flat areas so I've gotta give the tires a little more air.
