I emailed them yesterday since I hadn't received it yet. They replied and told me that it was mailed 3 days ago. I was a little dissapointed that it did not tell me what sub-model it was. i.e. Ranger, Custom Cab. Honestly, I don't know all of the correct names for these trucks, so if I misspoke please correct. I want to know so I can get the correct moldings, badges, ect. during the restoration. I know it may not matter to some. Don't you hate it when you see a vehicle with some decals or such on the wrong model? It bothers me but I'm kind of a stickler for detail. Again, I just want the right stuff on the truck when it's done. All of the labels and such are gone. Could you read the following and tell me which one it most likely would be?
Although they are a little pricey, www.martiauto.com can give you a complete break down on your truck. I've seen a buddies stang sheet he bought, and I must say very impressed! At least you can get one...... -4speed

That production date has me curious. They say it was built nov 16, 67 but the info I've got says serial numbers C14000 to C27999 were sceduled for september 67. I've heard of delays in production, but that seems a little bit of a stretch. Anybody have different info? Can you get the date codes off your windows- they will be down by the 'carlite' lettering and look like this: ie- 7 H. H would be august and the seven means 67. There should also be a tag with a date on the back of the seat back with a date code. These codes are usually within a few weeks of the actual build date. Does it have any chrome on the door panels or around the headliner? If not, then Barry's right about it being a standard cab. Looks like a great project- I used to have a 68 mercury stepside that I shouldn't have sold
Thanks for you comments. I will check out the window #'s as soon as I get a chance. As for the seat, is the plate under the cloth? I have the seat out and it's in the bed right now. I'll look that over and post what I find. Oh yeah, the headliner trim has flaking black paint on it. It does not look to be chromed, but the steering column has been changed and original gas tank removed. I don't know what could have been swapped with everything else. So far, looks like a standard cab. No big deal, just want it to be correct. I too have sold a few vehicles I wish I hadn't. Nothing as fun to work on as my '68 though!

There was an in depth discussion on another ford website where it was determined that those production codes were just a forecast. Very few of our production codes even come close to the "official" code. My truck was built in Jan. delivered in Feb. but apparently not built until March.
Coudn't find the plate on the back of the seat, but here's the door data plate info, if it helps.....
F10ADC14753 < I know that's the VIN
115 E F100 2 81 C 09
05000 121 3800 640079
The data plate was hard to read since it has been painted over, heavily. That line after the VIN the "C" could be an "0" and the 0 in "09" could be a "C." I hope for the curiosity of us both, this helps!
That 7G means that window was made in July 67. Are all the other windows close to that? The windows are usually within 1-2 months of the build date. The tag on the seat is usually wrapped around one of the springs on one side or other of the seat back, could be stamped steel or cardboard. As you haven't got the original drivetrain, those codes are lost but the rear end may have a tag. There can be a date stamped on the back of the instrument cluster, some sheet metal will show date codes and the horns are coded too. I've even seen an ink stamped date code on the firewall above the master cylinder on a couple of local 68's. I'll check my info for the other codes on your door tag unless someone else beats me to it.
Thanks. Don't have any cardboard or stamped steel tag on the seat. That is unless it is covered by the seat cloth. The only two windows with codes were the side windows. They both had the 7G on them. Nothing on the back of the instrument cluster except the Ford part # on the bezel and wire color directions. I'll check the rear end this weekend. I don't have the horns either. If the diff. doesn't reveal, I'll pay attention when I pull the body apart down the road.
