parking brake

i have a 79 ford f 150 4x4. someone drove it with the parking brake on awhile ago apparently and now it does not hold the pickup when it was on. it worked before they drove with it on. do i just need to adjust it or do i need some new parts?

Have you looked to see if there's any pad left on the rear brakes?
