What the ?!?

Well, driving to work this morning. On the highway, left lane, cruising about 70. All of a sudden, a few surges like someone kicked the turbo in the pants. Then the truck dies. Luckily, it was 5:45 in the morning. Was able to coast to the right shoulder. Cranked the truck. It started, chugged a bit, then died. Repeated about 5 times. Sat for about 10 minutes. Then it started. I limped to work. Seemed to run ok, but had to give it alot of pedal to get going.

Went to try it at lunch. Started and idled ok. Started driving. Needed ALOT of pedal to get moving. Parked it and went back to work.

Work over, time to go home. Started truck. Slightest touch of pedal, wham! pegs the tach. Put in gear, started chugging, can't go anywhere.

Towed to dealer, got rental car, went home. Will let you know what they find.

Wow, that sucks. I take it that its still under warrenty huh? I got an 01 Cummins and I don't worry about anything. I have a back up truck and they'll fix anything for about 5 more years.

CPS

I am having similiar problems. I bought a CPS and I am going to put it on today. Truck shot a code for CPS so I knew that was the problem. Do check for bad fuel first though a little treatment should fix it up as well as checking the fuel filter for water.

Got it back today. They say they replaced the CPS. Driving to school to pick up the kids, it surged and acted goofy. Driving 10 miles back home it was ok. Will see how it is in the morning.
