Hello fello truck fans. I am thinking of the corvette front end . I have located a donor vette for 350. all included. I feel this is a great deal. but no limits want 795 for the crossmember. that seems high. maybe we need to be making crossmembers instead of our chosen profession. any went the route of vette front ends
I didn't realize Vette crossmembers were even being made for these old trucks. What year truck are you working on? I would imagine Vette suspension components would be rather pricey...
None of the degenerates (I mean folks) that hang out here presently have any first hand experience with using the Vette front suspension. If you check out the lengthy article - the 2nd of three threads at the top of this forum when you open it, you'll find everything we were able to gather on the Vette IFS. It refers to the two or three vendors that offer the kits (all about the same price) and references several magazine articles done which feature the installation. There is one member in here that has good scanned copies of the pictures used in those magazine articles. If you really wanted them and asked nice, he might be willing to email them directly to you. (No, it isn't me).
The cross member kit really isn't that expensive - it is comparible to what you'll pay for the Dakota or the Cordoba. If you can afford Vette components, then you can afford the Vette cross member kit
I have the crossmember bought for 350. everything included. the crossmember from flat out engineering is 795.00. I have talked to the owner he seems alright and very knowledgable
