86 2.9L problems.

My B2 will not kick out of high idle for some strange reason. Take note that it has been really cold here the past few days (LIKE -40F COLD) and no thats not a typo, it's -40F here. I'm just hoping that its from the cold and it's not a sensor. If someone has had a similar problem, please let me know, as I would really like to get this resolved asap, shes quite the pig on gas in this silly wather.

Thanks,
Kevin.

Kevin, if I had to guess, I'd say that moisture in the IAC (Idle Air Control) has frozen and made it stick in an open position. Forty below is REALLY cold!

It's gonna be a balmy 10 above at my house tonight.

I talked to a shop today and he said it could be the IAC motor or the coolant temperature sensor. It ran good today after it was really good and warm, but when it sat idling for a bit, it kicked into high idle again, my guess is that the air is so cold that its freezing condensation when it sucks it into the engine, causin stuff to stick and slow operation of certain parts or stop them all together. -32C tonite and a bit warmer tomorrow, so ill see how she runs then.
