Emission problems??????
I'm stuck on this one..
1985 F250 302 Fuel Inj. Recent Tune-up, complete with wires.
I'm driving the truck and all is happy, all of a sudden motor is running incredibly rich, stong smell of gas and black smoke everywhere. Pulled the dipstick, fuel in the oil. Checked the EGR valve, it was stuck closed, I cleaned it out with Injection cleaner, got it working again, but still the same problem. I called my buddy, whose a Ford Tech, and he says to check to make sure the Fuel Pressure Reg didn't blow the diaphram. I pulled the Vacuum line off and started the motor, no fuel spewing out, so I've basically eliminated that. My buddy says to put a code retriever on it to try to get some codes. Does anybody have any suggestions??? I don't want to start throwing parts at this(no Money).
