X-Spring Experience
Does anybody have any experiences with swapping out your factory springs for the x-springs? My truck's coming in from the factory in a couple weeks and I want to have the dealer swap for the x-springs. Should I ask for a discount when swapping them out? Anybody have any idea what this should cost me, parts plus labor? Anyway this could be done under warranty? Thanks.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-May-02 AT 09:04 PM (EST)]It's only a $70.00 option when you order the truck. It doesn't seem like too big of an ordeal, but I'm sure it will be more than 70 bucks. Your truck will sit much higher with those springs. Mine seems to sit higher in both the front and rear than most SDs which makes me wonder if they somehow raise the rear of the truck to offset for the plow package. My truck sits slightly higher in the back, but looks nice. Your warranty is something you should check on before the work is done. You want to make sure that Ford doesn't refer to your springs as a modification of original equipment. It shouldn't be a problem seeing as it will be done by your dealer using Ford parts, but I would ask anyways. It may change your angles and require some adjustments. Good luck with your truck.

If the dealer Is installing them ,I would be happy just not to pay anything and have it all even, I dont know if I would ask for a discount.
