88 f150

i have an 88 f150 with a 300 6cyl and a 5 speed manual. The rear end is out. can anyone tell me if a used rear end from a full size ford car will work? The truck only cost me $750, and it's not dear nuff to my heart to invest $1'000 to fix.

It looks like a great buy. Just go the Junk yard find another Ford 8.8. If yours is a 2 WD, you don't really have to worry to match the front axle ratio . IT should be relative cheap too. HTH.

Underdawg is right, I'd jump at that for $750 in a second.

I tried 12 junkyards in my area and the cheapest rear was $375. Most places want between 5 and 7 hundred dollars. any other ideas?
