block heaters

Last night it dipped down to -45 here and needless to say my factory block heater in my 97 f150 is just not cutting it. Any one know of a recirculating style block heater for these trucks. I have one that goes in the heater hose, but it doesn't work and nobody sells this style around here anymore. does anyone make this style anymore. thanks.

I've seen the type that go into the lower radiator hose. I've got one on my work truck and it works really well. It keeps the engine temp about 190deg. Although it's a diesel. If you want any info on it I will get back to you in the AM when I get to work. This type you have to cut the lower radiator hose and insert w/ two hose clamps.

I want one that is like a heating element and you take the cap off the radiator and stick it in there. Oh well, my truck is outside most of the time, and I have to jump in it and leave on a moments notice...

Maybe there is one that goes in the block in a freezer plug, you just pop a plug and insert the heater and snug it up, they usually have an O ring seal.
