power valve

when you blow your power valve, what effect doies it have on the engine, would it make it run rough and idle terrible like it was out of time ?

I do know you will be seeing some black smoke out the tail pipes because of the rich condition..If you screw in your idle screws all the way and it still runs then mostly you blew your valve..A vac. leak can cause the problems you have listed..JMO..
