LLS Compressor Noise??
My compressor is very loud, from inside the truck it sounds like I have a 20 gallon 2.5 HP air compressor running (it's not quite that loud, but it is very noticable.)
I tried to get a good look at the compressor. I took out the battery, washer fluid resevoir, and was able to unbolt the mounting bracket but the air lines were too short to allow me to turn the unit over and get a good look. I did notice that the compressor has rubber grommets/shims that the mounting screws go through and I did notice that the screws had a lot of play within the rubber grommets.
Questions:
1. Should there be any play within the rubber grommets/shims?
2. If the answer to #1 is "No", then how do I go about replacing the rubber parts?
3. What is the easiest way to access the mounting screws? Is it possible to unhook the air lines without hurting the system? If so, how?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for the reply and the welcome, I read your post about the grommet/washer kits you got at the parts stores. My questions is, how do i get at the screws on the bracket? My air lines are too tight to allow me to turn the compressor over and get to the screw heads.

brackets & then loose the lines with a twist on the drier & then you can do all your repairs, a word of caution make sure that the
air line are not man handeld & when the repairs are done try doing them with the vehicle at opperating temp.
