45' 1.5ton

A 1.5 ton flat bed/stake side truck came along with some property I purchased in the mountains several years ago. It is titled and registered as a 1945. I don't have the VIN right here in front of me, but I will post it later. It is complete except for missing glass and the original motor turns over under 6v battery power. I am trying to decide what to do with this. I am into old cars (57'TBird & 68 Gran Sport Buick) but not sure which direction to go. First, I this vehicle of any interest, rare or of any value? I welcome any input from the experienced.....I have not figured out how to post photos yet but I can email to those interested.

Hey Daniel - Welcome to FTE.

Only info I can give you is for an easier way to view your photo gallery. We only need to click on the "View User's Gallery" below your name and we're there.

Nice truck.

Beatnon,
Your truck looks a lot like one that I disassembled for parts on my 1/2 ton. It is not rare or of significant "collector" status, but is nevertheless Old Ford and cool. Maybe you could drop one of your extra Y-blocks into it. If you have 5 acres or more of property there is always a need for a good size truck.

The most significance a '45 has is as sonme of the first post war trucks made. Of course a person in early '45 could buy a new 1.5 ton if they had proof they needed it and were approved as needing one by gov. It looks really nice, pretty rust free and complete from what I can see. Like 46yblock said, with that much land it's not a bad run about on your property.
