Well,, if ya really wanna know,,,,,
Bu other than that I have to refrain,, otherwise They will come and confine me in a room with a lock that has no key. And that just wouldn't be my style
I dont want to offend anybody with was I believe, but I dont care what anyone else says about this prayer, i think that it was right on the money. Society has made all of them wrong doins seem right and acceptable. I personally think that this world is goin to hell in a handbasket.
Redneck I totally agree, this country has lost its first love. A country founded on Christian beliefs has truly gone astray. Its inevitable though its only going to get worse until the Lord returns.
I have to say right on 98ranger. I will stand on my values and defend their origins too, but have decided not to knock heads anymore with those that have blasphemous contempt for my choice of guidance.
Those who dont feel their action is moraly corrupt, may continue in pratice as long as it does not effect the wellbeing of others.
Whether you find religion corrupt/perfect or politics corrupt/perfect, you may not impede the rights of others. I believe that is/was in the constitution somewhere.
Thats part of the problem, its so hard to tell anymore.
Sorry Webmaster, I should have quantified my particular reasons for that response. I don't see the post itself as "crap" but actually the implication that the evils of today and how we, as a society, are dealing with the such a large, diverse cultural base being attributed to a lack of faith in "God". I know I should have worded it more delicately, but Mike Meyer's scottish accent was driving those words when I read Waxy's post. Thought it almost humorous. I've been known to have a slightly off-center humor though, so I will openly extend an apology to offending anyone with that statement. Only in the verbage, not the intent.
I believe in the power of prayer but some of this particular prayer seem to be out of the mouth of someone who quite possibly has just a little to much pride and comes on to vague ,such as implying that everyone on welfare is lazy and whoever shot someone because of abortion rights was of sound mind. The world is not quite that black and white, if it was we wouldnt be having the problems that we do have. The only thing we can do is prey to GOD that we can receive the wisdom it takes to better the world and make it to heaven.

ps The flaming will begin. Just not the way you think.
Very cute bigjack.
I'll tell you what though, I'd rather face those flames than what has been embraced as "right" and "Godly" in that prayer. I would think that as Christians, you would be the first to recognize that.
"We have ridiculed the absolute truth of your word and called it pluralism.
"We have worshiped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
"We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle."
Let us preach intolerance of others.
What about those little rules, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you? Love thy neigbour as theyself, We are all God's children, etc... Or do those not apply to anyone that is not a white Christian male?
"We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
"We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation.
"We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
So a society that is more benevolent than any in history is on the road to hell? An attempt to help others despite the odds and the failings of man is bad thing, and not Christian like?
I could go on to address the rest as well, but I won't. I will say that some have more truth in them than others.
As for my "prayer", I'll pray that we don't stray from believing in the rights of man and the individual as set forth by the Constitution of the USA.

P.S. Ken, I was in no way commenting on the poster, only the content of the post. It was tongue in cheek. I was hoping to get some discussion going as to the content of the post. I'll refrain from being being as cursory in the future.
OOPS, Sorry I just can't own enough Ford trucks and chainsaws.
On the subject, any prayer that doesn't contain the unconditional love of your fellow human beings, however imperfect, is probably not in alignment with God's will. Just my opinion and that's all I have to say about that.
