I have a 1999 f350 xlt. My speed do. cover is cracked. Is there a trick or a special tool to remove the dash cover to replace the plastic lens? Hope to hear from you soon .

Pull the radio, and the light switch, then pull off the dash suround carefully. I beleive there are a few screws holding the rest of the unit in there, I took mine apart to put in a different gauge panel, but that was while back, and I forget things.

Yep, pull the radio(you'll need a special tool- Wal-mart) and remove the two screws on the top portion of the hole left where the radio was. The rest just pulls off. The plastic cover over the guages is held on by a cpl screws.
