Modifications on Excursion

Has anyone done the following modifications of their Excursion?
I am looking at installing a new exhaust system. My exhaust pings like crazy during cool down. I am thinking of getting a stainless steel exahust with 2" in and dual 2" out for dual pipes in the rear with a dynomax stainless exhaust. Also thinking of wacking the Catalytic convertor. I did it to my Ram pickup and it increased the Horse power and fuel mileage. What are your thoughts? It costs $159.00 for chrome polish stainless steel muffler and $200.00 for pipes and install, an addditional $40.00 each for stainless steel tips.

Also looking to install 7" DVD's in the back of the headrest of the captain chairs. It comes with a DVD player, remote controls for both LCD's, and headphones.
Has anyone have them? It costs $1500.00 to do this.

Don't get caught running without a Cat....I think it is something stupid like a $7000.00 fine for running without one.

Don't know this for a fact, but I thought the Ex's stock piping was bigger than 2".

The stock exhaust is 3". As for the cat. leave it on, it flows just fine. You won`t gain anything by taking it off.

I have a 2001 Ford Excursion I want to set it up for towing. I have changed out the exhaust to 4" put on a trans cooler. I have been told an Exhaust brake is a good idea? What type is best? There is the standard Banks system with butter fly valve or the new electronic type turbo brakes.

I really like the DVD monitors in the seats. Especially with two kids, they can watch their own or the other can play PS2.

What brand do you have? Do you have the audiovox? What size is it?

So the V10 is a 3" exhaust?

Ummm... Who is going to catch you? I have never seen anyone running around checking under vehicles for cats. I keep my vehicles in a good state of tune and do not own a vehicle with converters. I see a minor but measurable increase in power and mileage.
If emissions were really a priority, why do we let the smoking POS vehicles from neighboring countries travel our roads?

Here, they actually check for a Cat every single time when you go through DEQ. It has been only twice, but I have acually seen the police on the side of the road with a long mirror, checking cars for the Cat. They were both Japanese cars with a grapefruit shooter tailpipe that were probably obnoxiously loud, but nonetheless, they were checked.
