I was going through the Haynes TFI/Coil testing procedures, and the coil's secondary resistance is 7,600 ohms. The specs are 8,000-11,500 ohms. All of the other checks were ok. Is this enough of a difference to warrant replacement? Would the slightly lower resistance be noticeable in the truck's performance?
TM, if the coil temperature was below about 70*F, that's why you got a low secondary resistance reading. Warm it up a little and re-check it. I'll bet it's OK.....
