Started taking apart 4.2L

Started taking apart 4.2L

hey all.. started takin apart 4.2L today to change the dreaded gaskets. is it normal that there was water in my manifold?? Upper one..... would this just be condinsation from it not being warmed up enough to burn it off????? and when i drained the antifreeze out of the radiator only 3/4 of a bucket 6 liters mabey came out... mabey reason i had no heat???

4.2

I have a 97 4.2 been on the gasket web site and according to the build date my engine is ok...... I bought this truck from a dealer and I have till march for a full drive train warrenty..... Should I try to get the ford dealer to change the gaskets..... the truck has 86000 miles on it.......Ed

how do you find engines build date? on the tag thats on right rocker cover??? if so how do i decipher???

one side is cracked right along the surface for coolent/intake...
