Hey y'all! Looking to see if someone has tried this before. I have an F-350 SuperCab XLT Sport FX4 and would like to add one of the overhead consoles that come in a Lariat- you know, the ones that have outside temp, miles to empty, compass, and storage for sunglasses and garage door opener. Can I do this? I want to find out more info before I start looking in the local bone yards.
Not sure ,But hey for the right cost anything can be done.. So I bet you can with the right stuff. I like mine but the clip that secures the door of the sunglass holder has broke twice now.
It's the only real complaint I have with my SD is the cheap way they did that.. I used
some Velcro to secure it now
Some guys had asked about this a few months back and got mixed answers.
The general concensus seemed to be that it was east to install the console but harder to get all the electronics working properly. I was interested in doing it too-mainly for the extra storage space. I just came to the conslusion it sounded like it was too expensive and not worth the trouble.
Of course if I'm wrong and somebody knows all the correct parts #'s I'd like to hear about about. I still wouldn't mind having one!
Has anyone witha 99-01' Lariat swapped overhead consoles with an 02' to 04' style? Obviously, the wiring is already there and it seems like an easy switch. The newer style is much more practical with its door, instead of just an opening.
