Paint Damage
I have a question specific to crew cabs and paint. I have lurked and occasionally posted opinion here for quite awhile and haven't seen this issue mentioned.
On the rear passenger door window of the bottom rear corner the paint is peeling up. I had this problem on my 97 F-150 and it was from the window parts flexing the door skin as it went up and down. Ford had some feeble fixes for awhile and then finally got the probem fixed.
Has anyone with CC's ever seen or heard of this? I just hit 40,000 miles with it and the body shop for Ford sticks to the 36,000 mile warranty. Extended warranties do not cover paint so unless the metal becomes perforated they won't do a thing.
It's an 2001 that I bought used last Feb with only 11,000 miles on it. It drives me nuts that I have paint starting to peel in this area and that it looks like the dreaded door/window cracks from the F-150's.
