Being limited to only 6 characters on a plate in TX really cramps my style. When I lived in New Mexico the plates on my '68 California Special were: CALI4NA. The plates on my '70 Cougar Eliminator were: ELIMN8R
I'm always tinkering with my 1970 Mustang Mach One and my girlfriend bought me a set of vanity plates a few years ago as a joke:
KLUNKR
Some people get the joke when they see a nice looking Mach One with those plates, others like to make comments like "Ya its a Ford" etc.
But thats ok with me. Besides, if I took them off Lara would be REALLY ticked off and I can put up with comments from the uneducated peanut gallery if it keeps my other half happy

It's not a tax, it's a choice you are free to make - or not. If I wasn't spending the 77 cents a week on the plates, I'd probably be blowing it on booze and wild women.
When I raced I had a plate on my 93 Mustang that said UBNSKLD (You've Been School'd).
I wish that I still had that car... Kids today don't know how it feels to ride in a car that makes 750 hp at the rear wheels...
