Air Filter Box?

Air Filter Box?
Hello everyone, newbie here
I was changing the air filter in my 2001 ps and I broke the darn clip that holds the top down
I have it fixed for now but was thinking since I need to replace it that maybe I would replace it with something other than oem. Would apprecate to hear from anyone that has gone with an aftermarket box and filter and website where I could check them out or the thread where it has been covered.
Thank you for any help.
Buckie

Ed, here's my read on it. The filter used in the TYMAR flows so much air, and filters so well, I replace my filter because it looks dirty, not because it isn't doing the job any more. Dale insists the filter works well enough when it's too ugly to look at, that you've still got a lot of miles left in it. The filter element is replaceable, not reusable like the K&N.

We've been down this road before, Quad. Check out TDS, there was a lengthly discussion with posts by a Donaldson engineer, that stated the AIS as a whole flows better than the Tymar.
I know you don't believe this, but Buckie was asking for opinions and I gave mine.
In fact, here's exactly what I said in a previous thread:
Before I made my decision, I looked at the other systems, and ultimately I decided that the AIS flows well, filters great, looks stock, doesn't create warranty issues and was reasonably priced - a no-brainer as far as I was concerned.

This is the link to the thread by the Donaldson Enginner who designed the Ford AIS Severe Duty Intake;

That's an interesting piece, and was obviously written by someone with strong credetials.
(Italics are mine)
He has stated that the new AIS intake filters better than aftermarket intakes that utilize washable filters. I think the filtration numbers for the Donaldson filter used in the TYMAR are the same as the AIS.
The filtering efficiency of the new AIS is 99.9%+. The system will load approximately 900 grams (just about 2lbs.) of dust to the trip of the Filterminder. With a 99.9% efficiency rating this would mean that less than 1 gram of dust would pass through the AIS to the clean air side. Competing with this new AIS on the market today, are various aftermarket induction systems that utilize washable filters. I have tested some of these filters and found their filtering efficiencies to be as low as 70%. This would mean on a 900 gram dust load, 270 grams (just over 1/2 lb.) of dust will be ingested into the engine. Now this would be devastating to any engine and more so to an engine with a 100,000+ rpm balanced turbo charger.
