I installed a Flowmaster 40 on my 99 Ranger today. Well I got the muffler on Ebay from a company in Penn. that makes replicas of Flowmaster 40s. I start the truck up and it sounds almost the same as factory. Well maybe just a smidge louder from the outside. Inside I can hear the 4 cylinder more then the muffler. It's a stick so I have to bring the rpms way up to even MAYBE hear something. Do you think it's the Flowmaster LIKE or is it something else?

On a 4-cyl, it's gonna take more than just a muffler to make it loud. But being a replica, you're probably not getting the sound you would out of a real Flow. Headers and a high flow cat would help, also a larger tip could possibly give it a deeper tone.
