keyless entry

The electric locks on my 90 BII work well and I wanted to be able to lock and unlock the truck using a remote device.

I bought a kit on eBay that has everthing I need and a wiring sheet with what goes where.

What I donot know is where on the truck to begin hooking up the kit. In particular a place where a constant hot wire is available and access to the door locking wiring so I can get it all hooked up in 1 area.

Thanks for a great forum.

You should be able to get a hot wire (bk/w)and the controls (pk/lg & pk/y) in the door.

Thanks for the response.

I looked in the door this past weekend and was not sure where to mount the control box. so I looked under the dash. assuming the color scheme for wiring is the same, I found a capped plug with the three colors indicated and 3 additonal wires, 2 green combos and a white-black.

Is this where a factory keyless control box would have been installed? can I use this instead of connecting to the wires in the door? What about a ground?

Thanks for any help

I don't think BII ever came with keyless entry. You can ground to anyplace on the body.
