auto lock on a 98 EB
I can't stand the auto lock "feature", when I park it in the garage I always forget to unlock the doors so that my kids can get in the next time we go somewhere without me having to first go over and unlock the door. Is this as aggravating to others as it is to me? Is there a way to diable this?

Personally, I like the auto lock feature. When my wife takes the truck, she likes the fact that the doors lock by themseves, no worrys about somebody hopping in when stopped at a light.
As for disabling this feature, just look in the owners manual, it has a detailed description.
To deactivate the autolock:
Before following the procedure, make sure that the ignition is OFF and all vehicle doors and the liftgate window are closed.
You must complete steps 1-7 within 30 seconds or the procedure will have to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, you must wait 30 seconds.
1. Turn the ignition key to RUN.
2. Press the poser door unlock control three times.
3. Turn the ignition key from RUN to OFF.
4. Press the power door unlock control three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to RUN. THe horn will chirp.
6. Press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long chirp) if the autolock was activated.
7. Turn the ignition to OFF. The horn will chirp once ot confirm the procedure is complete.
That should take care of it !
