I had my truck in the dealership because I felt, what I thought was a warped rotor or drum. They said they turned the rotors/ drums and when I went camping this past weekend, it seemed worse than ever.
I should note that it was warranty work. I drive an Expedition for work and I heat those brakes up CONSTANTLY...and I dont get the "chatter" from it.
Slammer
I have made a few posts lately on this site concerning the warping and stopping issues with the ford rotors and pads. I own a 2k psd Excursion and went thru 3 sets of ford rotors and pads in the first 30k. I switched to an upgraded set of rotors and pads and the difference is remarkable. My stopping distances have been improved dramatically ecspecially when towing and the warping problem is no longed there. Let me know if you have any questions.
Checked out the site...looks good but my problem is that the brakes are still under warranty... Is there some way I can get the warranty to pay for them....NAH what was I thinking???? temporary insanity!!!
Hopefully, my dealer just did a rotten job on them... I'm going back and ask them to replace, not turn, the rotors.. I wonder what the chances of that are ??????????
After 3 sets in 30k I finally gave up on the dealers help. Waranty or no warranty my truck seemed to stay at the dealer for warped brakes. My other main concern was the stopping. I am also a scout leader of a fairly large troop and pull an equipment trailer and 5-6 boys. I wanted to make sure the beast would stop when needed.

I have read all of the posts regarding braking and I have to chime in with my .02. Yes Mr. Clutch does push his product alot. With that being said the ART rotors are Junk. They are nothing more than OEM rotors that have been cut with marginal slots and frozen. True slotting that has been done in the casting process will do nothing but assist the gasses escape during braking thus helping to dissapate heat. Slotting also increases pad wear. I have had a huge problem with breaking on my X and did research for months trying to locate a solution. I have spoken with people at Frozen rotors, ART, Carolina Clutch, and other manufacturers. I ordered and received the performance friction rotors from Mr. Clutch and they are better than he says they are. I also found them to be less expensive than motorcraft replacements. They have completly changed the breaking on my X. When I received them at my office two of my employees who race corvettes and porsches on the weekend could not beleive what they saw. My employee with the Z06 had just purchased a $5000 wilwood conversion kit for his vette and was severly dissapointed with his rotors compared to mine. Sorry to go off on a tangent and maybe Mr. Clutch should find other ways to market his product but I am on this board to find solutions to common problems with my X.
All I can say is your friend who dropped $5K should shop somewhere else, I use WilWood systems on all my customers short track Nascar asphalt modifieds that we build, with nothing but praise.
Wilwood superlite 6 callipers $300 a piece, ploymatrix pads at $60 a pair Hats at $81 a piece and rotors for $40 a pop.
The corrvettes and porsches don't impress me.
Thats a whole different application and Nobody really cares.
I personally wouldn't know if Mr clutch's rotors are any better than art's rotors, All Im saying is the only time he has anything to offer is when he can hawk his product.
Nobody else comes here to advertise their products, and I really don't want to read his product advertisement.
I totally agree with you Yeti!
I believe I read something in guidelines of this website, about this subject of advertisment.
Mr clutch is selling his product through kens store here.
thats fine !
I'm sure he will or is soon to be advised on advertising on this website .
And we all come here to help other people, have a little fun ,bust on friends when they are game!

I think you people are being a bit **** about someone advertising a product we can all use. After 2 sets of rotors replaced under warranty, I finally took matters into my own hands and ordered a set of the rotors from carolina clutch. Not only did it solve my warping problems, but I did not realise what a difference it would make in my braking power. So people, relax a little. If mr clutch wants to brag about his product a bit, who cares so long as they work!
Does he pay your salary? or is it just a coincidence that you joined today and just happen to make this your first post??
Let him buy a banner add like anybody else.
All you have to do is turn the rotors then use the performance friction pads. The only problem is the brake dust. Your wheels will be black in a week. I had those pads on my other truck and they actually made warped rotors get straight again..I just havent put them on my new truck, I don't want the black wheel syndrome...

I hope theses guys really do work for Carolina Clutch. If I were Carolina Clutch and someone was on a message board annoying people to the point of driving them away from doing business with me I would be pissed. Either you work for them or you don't. Hiding behind an internet alias is not good a way of doing business.
