The switch is right inside the door latch.
Quite often you can get the switch working again by spraying lots of WD40 into the latch and open and close the door a few times. The WD40 cleans out the gunk that's built up in the latch and switch.
Dont use a spray grease instead of WD40 as they tend to gum up in the latches.
