hope someone knows this one.. dont wanna pull the engine again.. have a 86 broncoII with 2.9.. it sat up for almost 2 years.. started it up and lost oil pressure... pulled the engine and the oil pan.. lots of trash in the pan.. so i put a new oil pump on it.. while i was at it.. pulled the valve covers off and the heads were full of crystalized oil(like oil with no moisture content.. it was hard.. ) about an inch deep on each head.. so i pressure washed the heads to remove all the trash off of the heads and reset the rockers on the lifters and made sure my oil drain holes were cleaned out.. after putting it back in the truck.. and filling with fresh oil and new oil filter.. got pressure for about 5 minutes and then no pressure and lifters started knocking on both sides.. drained oil and took oil filter off and no trash in the pan or in the filter... so what could problem be? oil feed line? tried sea foam to break whatever is loose loose.. didint help.. anyone? dont wanna pull it again.. too much trouble.. or should the heads be pulled to find the culprit.. the owner doesnt wanna spend the money to pull again and pull heads even after i suggested that the heads be pulled and inspected after finding what i did.. ... you know the type.. quick fix it .. any help appreciated.. joe
Sounds like the oil galley's are plugged again, or the screen on the pick-up tube is now plugged.
I don't think theirs a "mechanic in a can "for that one.
kinda sounds like it had some type of oil treatment additive added to it when it was running, now that stuff has dried out and
crystalized, from sitting 2 years, and came off from where every it was hanging from.
