Angry bronco II problems need help

i have a 88 bronco II rebuilt engine everything new
i was driving a while ago and the truck would just shut off it would start right back up and no problem it would do this every so often the last time it did it was 4 days ago it shut off and would not start again

i had it towed home and tested for spark ... none and the fuel pump wasnt kickin on so i changed tfi module...still no spark ...turning my attion to the fuel problem ......when i turn the key on i hear a tick from the tank but the front pump wasnt kickin on so i checked the inerta swicth looked good but no pawer getting to it checked fuse it ws good i ran a jump wire from batt to lead wire goto pump it turns the pump on so it isnt the pump

i checked all the fuseable link on the inner fender and they are all good also when i turn the key i am not getting the tick under the hood from the fuel pump relay

i was thinking that all this was interconnected seeing how the truck just died all of a suddon i am in the prosses of changing the whole distributor i was wondering if i have overlooked some thing or if that the magnetic pickups in are a commin problem has anyone had this problem before

Just a thought but have you checked the emergency fuel cut off switch. Not sure exactly where it is on that model but the owners manual should be able to tell you.

You say you are not getting any juice from the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay gets it's power from the ECA (computer) relay. Does the computer have power? If the computer were losing power, then the engine would die, because the computer controls so many things (fuel pump, fuel injectors).
If I were in your shoes, I'd get a wiring diagram and go through the fuel pump circuit with a fine toothed comb until you find the problem.

the emergency fuel cutoff switch is located under the glove box on the left side of the firewall. right by the passengers left foot. Give it a check see if it feels mushy . If so i would opt for a new one. also give the little lead line attached to the starter relay a looksy. if for any reason that is failing the truck will not start. she'll rank and crank but you'll get no ignition.

Try replacing your EEC power relay. Its looks like the green fuel pump relay except it is brown, It should be really close to the fuel pump relay. This relay sends power to the computer which sends power to the dist and fuel pump relay. They are not expensive and should fix your problem.

i checked relay today and all was good it just wasnt resieving the power to turn it on so i traced the wire and found that a wire had broke in the main wiring harness on the drivers side just before it goes into the fire wall there is a plug ...the wire had brokin off in the plug so the rest of the day was invested into cutting the plug off a junker and re wiring it onto my truck

after that was all dont i tested it I turned the key an WOW what do you know the fuel pumps turned on

so i check for spark and STILL none i tested the wires going to the coil with the key on and cranking on the red wire that goes to the coile has power when the key is on the green wire has nothing am i soppose to have power at this wire ?? if i am what do i have to look at

somone plz help this is the last thing that i need to do to get this thing running i have been working on it everyday for a week now getting kinda agrivaded but i have to do it cuz it is my only car

You will have fire to one of the wires all the time the ign is on. the other wire will not have anything till it is turning over then the computer will ground the green wire completing the circuit. Take the connector off the coil and attatch a test lite to the pos side of the batt, hook the other side to the green wire. turn the engine over and it should flash. if not check the computer if it does check the coil. Hope this helps
