Update:

He is not completely back to normal. We are waking up in the middle of the night, (2X) to give him pain meds.

As far as normal, do any of you ever here your heart beat when you lay down? I do.

Anyway, austin has heard it for the first time!!!

Glad the surgery went well, having a 6yr old boy myself I know exactly how you feel and what you 've been thru. I spent 6 days in ICU with mine for heart related problems at birth, but the miracle of prayer and modern meds and he's a normal rowdy boy.
The memory of the chopper taking off with him inside and me outside is still tuff to recall. Our thoughts and prayers are with you thru out the recovery stage....

Balance, when I saw him last, he seemed to be doing fine, he wa playing with my dog like a champ, Im glad he was there, cause it would have been a long drive back other wise, man he wore her out.

Yes, he has shown that he has better balance already. I think that he will be experiencing many things for the first time.
