I put 450# of sand in my Ranger today since it snowed real bad, and the truck drove like a dream... A lot more smoother than usual and less driveline lash... Ordinarily, in 4th gear, if I chop the throttle on and off it has more lash than I think it should, but with the weight in the bed it is real smooth... (Maybe the driveshaft is at a flatter angle?)
Anyways, I was thinking of maybe adding 200# to the bed of the truck permanently, but I don't know what would be the best way to do it... I've seen trucks with plate metal bolted to the beds before, but that would get in the way of loading stuff...
Maybe I could get something real heavy to go where the spare tire is?
