Exclamation sending unit and fuel pump wiring

What's up people?? I think I've already asked this question but is it possible to have a loose wire on the fuel pump/sending unit?
and will that make it consume an enormous amount of gas??

No, that would not make it consume lots of gas.

Red face fuelpump

My front tank gauge stopped working about three years ago and everyone told me that it was my fuelpump/sending unit. Then it started acting like it was out of gas even when I just fill up with gas. about two months ago I replaced the torque converter; the front tank started working again but for only about 1.5 weeks. that's why I think it's just a loose wire. any thoughts about it??
