Hi all.A guy called superdave over on the ford-diesel site(the gas section)claimed that he bent that alloy piece in front of the torq converter on the tranny out and it fixed the flutter. He was right.I bent the piece out on my truck and no more flutter.Special thanks to monsta for finding the thread on the other site.Good work superdave,You the man!
Well I don't now who was first but we (FTEers) actually had a user give us the same fix. I neglected to remember until someone jarred my memory. It is under "Hissing at 2000rpm" in the V10 forum.
I referred off site because I knew that it was a current topic and could easily be found. I really shoulda looked here as I knew I had seen it here...
I gather from what has been stated that the inspection plate is what's noisy.Does this only apply to Automatic trans. equipped trucks?I don't have any abnormal noises but was just curious.
Grea tstory *****, there is a user (Black Rhino) here with an Excursion that had tested several exhasut combos. He decided that he liked Headers and a Magnaflow the best. He had mentioned that he used a Flowmaster 40 and it was no longer in use. So I asked to buy it.
He gave it to me! What a guy! I was and still am, dumbfounded!
The wife doesn't mind...you see it's Father's Day and my birthday this month. It didn't cost her anything & I'm a happy camper.
You got anything that you aren't using? I can give it a nice home!
Well Im glad to see that its true and every dog does have his day.
I was told I need to be more of a people person, so I will not touch the whole kids and fathers day and the negitive DNA testing road I would have gone down if I wasnt such a changed person.

You must not have mentioned the installation charge or the $35 stainless exhaust tip that they will talk you into at the muffler shop. A little selective editing, I see !!
My wife was actually glad that I found a home for the FlowMaster 40, otherwise it wooda been a complete waste of money for me!
Of course she doesn't know about the install charge or the $35 SS exhaust tip that they talked me into at the muffler shop
My wife is always amazed how cheap I can get things for my cars and trucks, but when she needs something it always cost so much. If she ever found out the truth, I think she would perhaps KILL me.
