[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Jun-02 AT 09:20 AM (EST)]I just want to share an experience that I had with a company. In previous posts you guys have been very helpful in getting my project truck to where it is today. I had purchased a set of Lariat seats off ebay that had smoke damage to replace my stock bench seats. I did some research on getting them recovered either with factory leather or after market covers. I found a company in Sturgis Michigan which I considered to replace my seat covers. I am from the Detroit Michigan area so when I pickup my seat in Illinois, I decided to give the company a call at about 4:00 PM. Jack the owner answered the phone and I asked if there was going to be anyone available to look at my damaged seat and give me an estimate on recovering them on my way back to Detroit. Jack said that his factory closes at 3 PM but he would stay and wait for me. I was approximately 140 mile away in Illinois when I called. Well, with heavy traffic near Gary Indiana, I didn't get to his shop until 7 PM. This is what I want to share with you guys because it is very unusual to find people like this. Jack's company isn't a store front and the fact that he accommodated me when he does mostly mass production..high volume work I found it very special that he took the time for a single estimate. Jack met me at the front door and gave me a tour of his facility to included hand picking the hide for my seats. He even took the time out to match the leather colors to my existing trim in the truck (gray and dark gray). While back in his office he gave me contact numbers of companies in the Sturgis Michigan and Elkhart Indiana that would have factory tackoff parts in bulk which I may need to complete my project truck. I think this guy is a rare commodity and I am not giving him advertisement but those of you that might be doing project trucks or may need something in the future like new interiors.....I would highly recommend this company. After giving me an estimate for recovering my seats I told Jack that I could bring them back next week. That I was going to take the seats home and clean the foam and frames because they are saturated with smoke suet and I wanted to paint the seat trim from beige to gray. Jack told me that he would have the foam cushions cleaned and that they would do the trim painting. Then I asked "Well how much extra would that be?" He replied nothing.
For what it is worth, you don't find people or companies like this everyday!

It's reassuring to hear that there are still some business people out there who feel that customer satisfaction is at least as important as the "bottom line".
