Slipping E4OD

I recently bought a 95 4x4 with a 5.8l and automatic transmission w/OD and it's slipping slightly in first gear. It's worse when the engine/transmission is cold. When it warms up it isn't as severve but is still present. I checked the transmission fluid level and it's right where it should be. What happens is the transmission will slip when pulling away from a stop and then all of a sudden grab. It kind of feels like it was slightly slipping on some ice and then hits dry pavement. It then shifts perfectly into second gear. It's very subtle especially when warm. Some people may not even notice it. I bought the truck to pull a car trailer and I'm a little concerned about the transmission giving out on me. Has anyone experienced this?
thank

Yes, as a matter of fact, Ive had it happen in two different trucks.
Does your problem come and go like mine, or is it there all the time? I've been told that it is an electrical, not mechanical problem. But I have put my wifes truck (a 95 XLT)on a scanner several times and can never come up with a fault code. I've checked the RAB sensor, and all the electrical connections. I've been told that it could be the shift position sensor on the left side of the tranny, but I could not see spending $ for a part I did not know was bad. Please let me know if you come accross a solution.

Thanks,
So I guess I'm in the same perdicament.
