99 true duals

99 true duals
So I'm loking at having true duals put on my truck. Cut at the stock Y-pipe, run pipes next to each other, with an H-pipe in there somewhere, to a dual in dual out muffler.
My question, are dual/dual mufflers actually two mufflers in the same case, with two seperate flow paths?
With true duals do I need to have two si/so mufflers to maintain the gains from true duals?

a lot depends on where your cat is located and on emishion laws where you live . on the mufflers , most manufactorers have cutaway pictures showing what the flow of thiers is .you dont mention a company. ,bob
