Wife called me stuck at Wendy's with the kids. Car won't start. It just goes "click, click click" in rapid order, like a tommy gun. Headlights, radio, wipers, etc all work. I am at home now and will go back out later with jumper cables. It seemed to me that the battery has acted weak lately with slower starts. There was some acid build up on the neg terminal which I cleaned up. Still no start. Any ideas?

Terminals and/or battery. Did you go get the wife and kids?

 

Case anyone is interested. I went back out with the jumper cables and she started right up. Went to the local Advanced Auto Parts and bought a new battery. I don't feel too bad as the original Motorcraft battery lasted over 4 years. Glad it wasn't anything worse than just a battery.
