i got this hole back where the seatbelt bolts to the floor , that whole ares is rusted out , so is the floor along the door , someone patched it with sheet metal but it's ugly and annoying because the weather stripping keeps floping around . i saw the whitney has a replacement floor piece that says the stripping will fit right on it . my question is how big is this pannel ? how far into the cab does it go , how far back does it go ? mine is pretty much rusted out all the way to the back of the cab , and since they have no idea what the specs are on what they sell i'm hoping someone here will have bought one and be able to tell me what i need to know
Look under the tech articles for "Replacing Floor Boards In A 1953 F-150 " it goes in depth about replacing a whole floor. even if it doesnt asnwer a specific question for you- its chocked full of good tips. You might also look into getting a wire feed welder if you dont already have one, the prices have dropped alot lately and they are EASY to use. Have fun!
I went through the same thing. They sell an outer rocker, inner rocker and cab corner. My truck was rotted in between the rocker and where the floorpan rises up to the seat mounts and at the cab corners. I never could figure out for sure if the combined 3 panels would actually repair the damage I had, short of ordering them and finding out.
I finally gave up and cut the complete mess out of a rust free junkyard truck from under the door hinge, in about 18 inches, and the cab corner up to the VIN sticker. Huge pain in the butt to replace after almost a year of trying to find a good donor piece. It worked out great, but I still believe it would have been more easily done with repair panels. IF they would have effectively covered the problem areas. I still don't know if they would.
