I too have a back that will go out on me every once in awile.I'v seen doctors about it ,but i have my own therapy.I won't suggest them.what works for me may not work for you.I know it can be painful.good luck.
jarlaxle,i know how how you feel.hurt mine doing farm work, and now all i have to do is move wrong and Owwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!! you ever spend any time in the pre-powerstroke page? dont think ive seen your name there.but i havent been here very long.
It's amazing how something like a donut tire can hurt you that bad! Just a little pull in the wrong direction and "WHAM". I broke my back in 1982 and spent 4 years sleeping on the couch because I couldn't lay down on a bed for more than a couple of hours. Had to sleep sitting up. Hope you can come out of this soon. Good luck.
I've never thrown my back out, but I've "tweaked" it once. Man, was that scary. That whole sensation of not being able to move because of the pain for a few minutes really sucks.
I'm looking right at a Capehart Hi-Fi that I got from my Pops house when I was salvaging things.
I got it on my truck myself, but by the time I got home I could barely walk.
At least I know its made out of real wood - the pain it caused ought to be worth something, shouldn't it?
Lesson learned: You can be Hercules. But only if you are in training, and lift with your LEGS - not your back.
PS: I went on a short deployment the next day. Dragging my seabag was no fun at all...
PPS: HOORAY FOR NAPROSIN!!! God bless the man who thought of that. It still sucked - I went through a week at sea in which I could not be in certain positions. Sitting down was difficult. Picking things up was occasionally hell - depending on the angle, not how heavy things were.
