99 ranger MAF ?
Hi i was wandeing if any one knows how to clean
the maf sensor on 99 ranger.
Do i need to take off the cover on top the black box or take the hose apart and clean inside.

Take a look at the 97-2003 F150 Forum There is a Maf cleaning discussion , do a search. Good luck. To clean the MAF sensor, make sure the truck has been not ran for a little while. There is little wires in the tube that the air passes through. They heat up, and as the air flows by the wires, it cools it down. The computer looks at the changing temp of the wires to determin how much air is flowing into the motor. Use a electrical contact cleaner (best) or even brake cleaner to spray in the tube and on the wires. Do not take the black cover off, no need to. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
