i am looking at getting a new set of rims and tires, now my question is an 8 inch rim wide enough for a 12.5 tire? also 4wheel parts is having a buy 3 get one free on the rims that i like. they would be $452 with tax and all. (american racing nitro's) my question with that is, is that a good deal or should i keep looking around. thank you
8" to 10" rims are right for 12.5" tires. Actually the 8" rims would be preferable because they put less stress on your front wheel bearings.
4-Wheel has a chart of recommended rim widths for each of their tires. All of the tire manufacturers have similar charts. Check the tire manufacturers recommendations before finalizing your purchase. Also make sure that the wheel backspacing is proper for your particular truck. The 4-Wheel folk know what will fit your truck - just make sure to ask them.
