Gurgling While Accelerating

Just wondering if anyone could enlighten me here. I have a '97
F-150 4x4 Lariat, Reg. Cab, 4.6 w/auto. Transmission, 114k miles. I'm very pleased with my truck, and I've had absolutely no trouble with it so far, other than cracking spark plugs. There is a gurgling sound coming from around the passenger side dash while accelerating. It does this worse when it's cold. I have plenty of heat, no water in oil, and good oil pressure. Coolant level doesn't seem to be dropping, and the floorboard doesn't get wet, so I'm not sure if it's the heater core or not. I've read on this site similar problems with the gurgling, but I'm not having all of the same symptoms as what they experienced. Since replacing the heater core is such a big job, I want to see if there might be something else that could be causing this. I know there is a possiblity that it might be a blown head gasket, but I'd rather find something else that would be causing this problem, if you know what I mean.

It could possibly have a air pocket in the cooling system. Start it cold with the radiator cap off and let it run up to operating temp. It may burp out some air.
Yes, it does sound like coolant flowing thru the heater core.

I appreciate it LX. I'll try what you said, and see if it helps.
